Australia Day

-Wild ducks enjoying the rain and our pond.

We enjoyed some wet weather over the long weekend, putting some much-needed water into our tanks and topping up the garden pond.  The garden is greening up and we may see a new episode of Cilla's Garden sometime in the coming week.  We often get wild ducks visiting our pond but during the showers these guys really seemed to be having a good time so I grabbed the camera and snapped a couple of shots.  It's hard to photograph wild animals with a consumer digital camera.  Our Coolpix only has a 3x zoom, but it takes a 7.1 mega-pixel shot so it still captures plenty of detail.  These ducks saw me coming and one got out before I got close enough to take the picture.
