Google Reader

A graduate of the GoogleLabs, the Google Reader lets you subscribe to RSS feeds. RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary and is an open standard that allows you to keep an eye on sites you like read regularly.

Just about all modern websites that display regularly updated information or news use RSS so readers can be notified when something new has been added without actually going to the site.

This blog uses RSS. If you have a Google account, you can login to Google Reader and subscribe to DgarHQ just by adding it to the subscriptions. Whats more, if you have started using iGoogle (look up at the top-right corner of the Google homepage) you can add Google Reader to your iGoogle homepage! Never miss a your favourite blog again!

So I went through all the blogs and news sites that I read and added them as subscriptions into Google Reader. All went well till I got to the one and only blog I visit that it on the cursed cesspool that is the Microsoft Live Spaces site. No RSS. No open standards at all. It's like they hate their users. Idiots. So I still have to remember to check that site out every now and then to see if anything's been added. So stupid!

Mimi! Start using Blogger. Or MySpace. Or Multiply. Your content deserves better!
